Trade Compliance Executive (Malaysia)
Plan, monitor, and manage international shipments, oversee customs clearance, coordinate logistics operations, and perform data analysis to ensure compliance with trade and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all import activities into Malaysia and manage domestic export shipments from West to East Malaysia and Brunei, ensuring smooth, timely, and compliant operations.
Plan and coordinate vessel schedules, delivery timelines, warehouse allocations, and shipments, including support for new store openings.
Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of shipping documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, costing files), and resolve discrepancies with relevant stakeholders.
Collect, interpret, and analyze logistics data, including:
Backlog deliveries
Fulfilment metrics
Shipping lead times and costs
Reliability and cost-effectiveness of third-party logistics (3PL) providers
Monitor logistics performance and identify trends or issues impacting efficiency and cost.
Generate and present weekly and monthly reports, providing clear insights on performance, cost management, and improvement opportunities.
Identify operational challenges and implement timely solutions to support continuous process improvement.
Support logistics solution development and seasonal container delivery planning in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Perform ad-hoc tasks and participate in mini projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related field.
1–3 years of working experience in logistics, supply chain, import/export, or a related function.
Basic understanding of import/export procedures, customs clearance, and shipping documentation is an added advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and comfortable working with data and reports.
Familiarity with logistics performance metrics (e.g., lead time, shipping cost, 3PL performance) is an advantage.
