Product Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Product and Assortment Planning
• Develop and implement long-term product and assortment strategies aligned with company goals via in house creation or brand liaison.
• Drive the category or product line's vision, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
2. Team Leadership and Development
• Lead and mentor the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Provide guidance and training to ensure team members meet their objectives.
3. Budget & Inventory Management
• Manage budgets for product orders, inventory purchasing, and promotional activities.
• Monitor product performance and adjust strategies to meet profit targets.
• Oversee end-to-end inventory management to ensure the right product mix, stock accuracy, and alignment with sales and merchandising strategies.
4. Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and supply.
• Negotiate complex contracts and drive long-term partnerships
• Lead cost negotiations with suppliers to achieve the most competitive pricing while maintaining product quality and strategic vendor relationships.
5. Data-Driven Decision Making
• Leverage analytics to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory.
• Use data to evaluate promotional effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with marketing, Logistics, and Visual Merchandising, Retail team to ensure alignment of goals and strategies.
• Drive collaborative campaigns and initiatives that maximize product visibility and revenue.
7. Risk Management and Contingency Planning
• Anticipate market risks (e.g., Logistics disruptions or demand changes) and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience.
2. Strong experience in buying, merchandising, designing, product development, and data analysis.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience.
4. Minimum 8 years of experience in Retail, FMCG, Fashion, E-commerce, Sports, or General Merchandise industries.
5. Good command of English and Malay.
6. Mandarin is required at a conversational level.
At least 4 years of people management experience, managing a minimum of 2 headcounts.
